At the town of Hrafnseyri Route 60 turns North to cut through the mountains.

The road goes up continuously for a while.
At 100 meters altitude there is already a lack of vegetation taller than grass.
The road is in excellent condition.
Now at 200 meters altitude there is a bit more snow.
Two miles North of Hrafnseyri we are at 220 meters.
The road continues to climb.
