The wind is picking up and starting to blow the sand around.

Poor visibility up ahead in a sand storm.
The sand storm is getting worse.
Visibility is very low now.
Sand blowing across the road.
The sand storm continued for only a few miles.
The road is becoming obscured by the blowing sand.
You can still see the road but not so well.
